Writer’s Journey Intensive Mentoring Program

Start and finish your draft in nine months OR complete your second or third draft rewrites. All genres: fiction, non fiction, prose or scripts.

Whether you are right at the beginning or rewriting subsequent drafts, help is at hand.

First Page To First Draft
9 months guided and supported writing towards a completed draft.

How it Works:
Submit your idea in a half page synopsis with a three page sample of writing and short biog to Jan.
Have an initial interview to establish if this program is right for you.
Upon commitment to the program have your first session with Jan to set goals and deadlines.
Receive regular craft modules and individualised task plans.
Submit monthly writing tasks (chapters, scene sections).
Take part in monthly feedback sessions (phone, skype).
Receive weekly or fortnightly support calls.
Submit your completed draft nine months on from your first goal setting session.
Final feedback session with Jan on your work with advice on how to proceed to the next stage.

 

 

Second/Third Draft Rewrites
9 months guided and supported rewriting towards a completed draft.

How It Works:
Submit your synopsis and sample chapter or scene sequence plus short biog to Jan.
Initial interview to establish if this program is right for you.
Upon commitment to the program you submit your draft manuscript.
Initial feedback/brainstorm session with tutor to set monthly goals and deadlines.
Receive regular craft checklist and individualised task plans.
Submit monthly rewrites.

Take part in monthly feedback sessions by phone or skype.
Receive weekly or fortnightly support calls.
Submit your completed draft  nine months from your first goal setting session.
Final feedback session on your draft with Jan with advice on how to approach publishers, agents, producers.

WHEN: Begin at any time in the year by arrangement with tutor but you must commit to finishing within 9months .
WHERE: Online with optional attendance at monthly workshops in Sydney and face to face or skype sessions.
TIMES: Monthly deadlines with feedback sessions by phone or Skype. Weekly or fortnightly support calls as requested.
INCLUSIONS: Free attendance at Draft Busters monthly workshops in Sydney.
EXCLUSIONS: phone calls (Skype is free)
COST: $3550
PAYMENT: $550 deposit will reserve your place. Full payment due in at the first goal setting session.
NOTE: Places are limited, if you drop out part way, your place cannot be filled. Once full payment is received, refunds, deferments or extensions cannot be given. At $99 a week, your investment represents the commitment you are willing to make towards the completion of your writing project.
